Our prayers:
1. "While He was at the table with them, He took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. Then their eyes were opened, and they recognized Him, and He vanished from their sight. They said to each other, 'Were not our hearts burning within us while He was talking to us on the road, while He was opening the scriptures to us?'...Then He said to them, 'These are My words that I spoke to you while I was still with you--that everything written about Me in the law of Moses, the prophets, and the psalms must be fulfilled.' Then He opened their minds to understand the scriptures," (Luke 24:30-32...44-45)
May we who confess to knowJesus Christ, the Messiah, the Saviour of the world, the King of Israel, Son of God and Son of Man, may we know Him more as we seek to read His Word and understand Who is Jesus Christ of the law of Moses and the prophets and the psalms, as we read and humbly ask Him to open our minds that we may understand and know Him more under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and live lives that reflect His image.

While the world declares a climate emergency, the reality of moral change is ignored and threatens to further corrupt every aspect of our daily living. The toll of human suffering mounts and lives are devastated more and more. Godlessness partnered with lawlessness continue to drive us further and further from the fulfilling lives we were created to live in communion with our Heavenly Father. Thousands of years ago, the LORD spoke to the prophet Jeremiah saying, "Thus says the LORD: Stand at the crossroads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way lies; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls." (Jeremiah 6:16a). Let us heed the Word of the LORD and find those ancient paths, the way of life that God commanded His people to live as given in the Bible, and which all people can choose to follow and find the rest for our souls which is so desperately needed and which is the will of the God Who created us in His own image.
-
Daily, we are made aware of situations in the world, in our communities, and in our families that ought to draw us into prayer. May our prayers to our Redeemer and King be unceasing and unselfish as we entrust our Godly needs and Godly desires to our faithful Father. Let us make prayer time and times with the LORD our God the central focus of our lives in Christ and dependance on Him deepened.
-
Recalling the words of John the Baptist to his hearers: "Bear fruits worthy of repentance...every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire." (Luke 3:8-9) As his message was a call to prepare for the coming of the Messiah Jesus Christ, let us examine ourselves and ask the LORD to give us eyes to see changes that we need to make in our lives.
-
"Then He said to them, 'These are My words that I spoke to you while I was still with you--that everything written about Me in the Law of Moses, the prophets, and the psalms must be fulfilled.' Then He opened their minds to understand the scriptures," (Luke 24:44-45). Let us humble ourselves as we ask our LORD Jesus Christ to open our minds to understand the scriptures.
-
"Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able..."Our Messiah spoke these words in Luke 13:24-30 when someone asked Him, "Lord, will only a few be saved?" Let us seek the LORD and cling to Him by obediently and diligently following Him with undivided hearts lest we live lives of complacency to this warning and the many warnings given to us by our Saviour and King.
-
As we seek to grow in our walk with the LORD Jesus Christ, let us re-assess our standing where we may have once thought we were in good standing. In the parable of the sower, our Teacher and Rabbi gives us much to consider. (Luke 8:4-15)
-
"Thus says the LORD: Do not let the wise boast in their wisdom, do not let the mighty boast in their might, do not let the wealthy boast in their wealth; but let those who boast boast in this, that they understand and know Me, that I am the LORD; I act with steadfast love, justice and righteousness in the earth, for in these things I delight, says the LORD." (Jeremiah 9:23-24) Examining our hearts, our minds, our hopes, and the things we value, the things we allow to occupy our thoughts and our time, do we truly strive to understand and know the LORD? Do we ask Him to help us to understand and know Him according to His desire for us? What a glorious and humbling endeavour He has set for us! How satisfying and fulfilling, ultimately purifying our every desire, as we grow in communion with our Heavenly Father, forsaking the foolish aims of this world.
-
"But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive opinions."(2 Peter 2:1a) The warning is clear and dire for all who seek to follow the Truth, Jesus Christ is the Truth, the Way and the Life. Ever since the early days of the church, corruption of the Word of the LORD, has been present and we must be constant in the struggle to be followers of the Messiah in spirit and in truth.
